Richard: Hey Lloyd, doing this 3 Peaks Challenge next month - you keen?
Lloyd: Yes.
Richard: Cool.
Jumped on a flight to Glasgow on a Friday morning. Walked around the town for a while. Had some Guinness at the Horse Shoe Bar (apparently the oldest in town) saw more tattoos on women than I have ever seen in one day and tried my hardest to stand next to local Glaswegians and listen to them talk because their accents are AWESOME.
Met up with the KPMG crew that were doing the challenge, jumped into a van and we were off.
The basis is to climb the highest mountain in Scotland, England and Wales in a weekend.
Drove through the Scottish Highlands which are breath taking to say the least. Arrived at Ben Nevis around 7pm and started climbing. Got back down at 2am - had fish and chips - jumped in the vans and tried to get some sleep.
Arrived at Scafell Pike in the lake district around 9am - climbed for 6 hours up and down - jumped in vans and drove to Snowdon in Wales. Got up and down in about 6 hours. Finished in 31 hours or
so.
So amazing!
Memories:
We were in the clouds at the top of both Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike.
The view from the top of Snowdon as the sun was setting was something special.
Had to pull Chris’ dislocated thumb out of his hand on the way down Scafell Pike.
Salomon XA Pro shoes are incredible!
The crazy little scramble section up Scafell Pike. So fun!
Drooling on myself in the car.
The shower the next morning after climbing Snowdon.
I like chocolate.
Running up Snowdon with Richy boy.
The amazing bridge at the bottom of Scafell Pike.
We had such an awesome time.
