Arriving at night isn't really the best way as it was difficult to, firstly find a place to get a map and secondly read the map in the dim light! But we soon discovered that as soon as we had our map out people would stop and ask if we were ok and if we needed any help. This made finding our hostel easier. The next day we went on a free walking tour of Edinburgh taken by one of the hostel staff. We are looking out for these as these are a quick way to see most of the sights, without having find the best way to get there. An interesting part is the story of Greyfriars Bobby the dog, and how after his owner died when Greyfriars Bobby was 2 he spent the next 14 years keeping guard of his owners grave until his own death.
