ahhh... Bonnie Scotland
the sheep and the trees at our country getaway It was like having christmas with the army... or an orphanage... or a mental institution! At ten O'clock in the morning - as ungodly an hour as there ever was - the fire alarm went off so that everyone would wake up and congregate in the main lounge.
Everyone had begun to wonder why no mail had been coming in for the past couple of weeks, but as we arranged our many selves around the tree, it became quite clear with all of the battered-looking, air-mailed packages piled up around it that it'd been held hostage. Even the usually-surly night porter grinned like a little kid as he unwrapped his 'Secret Santa' gift of "The Jumbo Book of Dot-To-Dot Pictures"!
Ash, Alaya and I nominated ourselves to be Santa's (a.k.a Crazy Polish Chef) little helpers in the kitchen and spend 10 hours feeding and cleaning up after 150 people- something for which we earned 2 weeks free accommodation, a free feed and a litre of vodka! Not a bad christmas present from the wonderful multi-million pound MacBackpackers Pty. Ltd. ©®™...
In the past five minutes I've received offers of work with hairy coos in the highlands, requests to
help build a recording studio in Bulgaria, demands that I go to Italy and the possibility of a nice cup of tea.
...mmm tea. 😊
For Christmas I got a HUG from Ash and Alaya (awww)... just the one though... stingy bastards! :P, a Jawharp (one of those *dwng dk'd dwng dng dwng* springy noise things) from Ash's Fam (THANKS SUE, GRAHAM & MEGS!!), a lot of chocolate from Santa Claus and a Tee-Shirt the Swedes had made me saying "Crocheting is my Life" with a picture of wool and a crocheting needle! hehe... it's funny 'cos it's true! :P
It will snow in approximately an hour and twenty minutes.
Have a Happy (whatever your definition of 'happy' may be 😉 New Year!
