G is two weeks old now. She gained 12 oz in the first 12 days, which we are very pleased with! She has had lots of visitors, including Aunty Wisa, BigD & LittleD, AuntyM & Uncle Bugsy and now Nanny & Grandad. But there's one relationship that Mummy & Daddy have been watching very carefully...
When J was first introduced to his new sister, his initial reaction was denial, crying 'No, no, no!' he ran out of the kitchen! As the days passed, his curiosity got the better of him and he started to get a little closer. All in his own time though. If either of us encouraged him to come and meet her, or hold her, he was not interested. Only if he thought we weren't looking would he tentatively go up to her and take a closer look.
We've captured a lot of those first meetings on video, mostly while he was unaware we were filming. This video on youtube -

in her chair or on the mat, so that he can be with her on his own terms. Sometimes he'll ask to hold her, but after 10 seconds or so, will shyly push her away, it's very sweet. We can't leave them alone though, as the love is starting to get a little overwhelming for her. We have to keep reminding him to 'be gentle!'
