Is anyone else interested in the whole concept of film tourism ? or been influenced by movies to visit particular places ?

eg. Braveheart & Scotland, Lord of the Rings & New Zealand, The Beach & Thailand, The Quiet Man & Ireland, Casino Royale & The Bahamas etc

I think this is a very interesting area and that movies probably do influence us more in our holiday choiced that we even realise sometimes. Does anyone have any thoughts our experiences to share ?

The Blue Lagoon
I am heading to the Fiji Islands next year as it is close to New Zealand and have always wanted to go there after watching the Blue Lagoon movie. And The Beach has made me want to go to Ko Samui very badly too.

Great examples! Fiji is meant to be beautiful and Thailand's scenery certainly looked amazing in The Beach. Living in New Zealand have you wanted to visit any of the Lord of the Rings locations ? or have any other films enticed you to visit anywhere in Europe ?
