Blur
Having a Beer at Hyde Park, watching Blur.
Amazing Hi Everyone!!
I am having the worst memory so I should have updated this sooner so I didnt forget anything!
I'll try my hardest!
...........where we left off....right! That night Jords and I walked down to Hyde Park where Blur were playing a gig. We took a few beers down each and sat and listened. It was so amazing. Could hear them perfectly and just them on the big screen so it was our first free concert! Heaps of other people were doing the same thing! Taking picnic rugs, chips and dip etc.
A man sitting just infront of us was kindly opening a bottle of wine for his friends and corked himself in the eye. I dont think I have tried so hard not to laugh. We gave up after a few seconds and started loosing it laughing!!
Glad to report after he went for a bit of a walk to shake off the pain, he came back with a minor injury!
On Saturday it was the 4th of July. You would think we saw American flags everywhere and Yanks running around in celebration but no. This was not the case. Instead it was the Gay
Huge Moon! Stage
I couldnt get over how big the moon was. This is the stage to Blur Pride Parade in London and Gay Pride there was! Thousands of people from across the globe had come to London for the Parade and eventual celebrations in Trafalgar Square. Was quite interesting, certainatly nothing you would see in Perth!
Jordan and I walked along Oxford Street again (I cant wait until I have a job and can actually spend money here) and walked down Park Lane. I laughed because it was always my favourite property to own in Monopoly so I was quite at my leisure.
We passed all the BMW, Mercedes, Lexus etc dealerships (although they are TINY compared to the ones back home!!) Passed the Ripley's believe it or not mueseum which was quite unbelievably huge and ended up heading towards the Big Ben!
We took really great snaps of it which I will upload for you all and took some lovely pictures of the London Eye over the River! We didnt go on it, it was packed with tourists every turn we took and the London Eye takes about 40 minutes to go around. It was going pretty slow and I'm not that keen on the heights either!!
We took taxi back home and
Fountain
The Crowds in London passed Gucci, Dolce and Gabanna, Chanel and all those high end fashion places. I was tempted to go in but thought it best not to!
That night we went for a bite to eat around the corner at an Italian Restaurant which was quite nice. We sat outside on the path and had pizzas and beer. It was pretty fun watching the different people going passed!!
Sunday we headed towards Madam Tussauds! I was so excited to see the wax figures! It came at a heft price but was well worth it once we were in!
I was rubbing shoulders (literally, the place was packed!) with Nicole, Brad and Ange, Tom, Orlando, Johnny Howard, Prince Harry etc. Loving ever moment! Perhaps one day eventually my wax figure will be here? I'll have to do a bit more walking though.. they probably wouldnt have enough wax. Jokes!
We walked back to our hostel and after a bit of a break and some dinner we went to the pub across the road (literally 10 metres away!) It wasnt busy at all...they must not be big on Sunday Sessions! We had a few beers and before we knew it, it
London Eye
I Love this picture. was 11! Time flies by at night but goes so slow during the day...its crazy!
Today we had our Orientation at BUNAC (the head office of the program). We learnt about our National Insurance numbers, best ways to look for jobs and accomodation, bank accounts etc. It was great to feel a bit more familiar with all these things that I had only read about! Whenever we have a problem we are able to go or call this office and the girls there will help us out!
After we got back we planned to go to Camden Markets which I was looking forward to! (Camden is frequently referenced in The Mighty Boosh - perhaps I would see Vince - for those who do not know what I'm on about, move on) We were walking out the door and it was pouring with rain so we decided to go perhaps tomorrow if the weather clears up!
I went into the lounge room and watched My Family and As Time Goes By (Pop reminds me so much of the man in that show!!) which are two british shows I love!!
After I met up with Meagan, one of
Big Ben
Big Ben! Ash's high school friends who lives in Hammersmith. She had a friend staying from Perth so the three of us met up in Regent street. Meagan took us to Soho where all the celebs are photographed! Not that we saw any unfortunately! We had coffees at a lovely little barista thing!
I walked back to the hostel and once again here I am! Contemplating on dinner. Its 8 o clock even though it feels like 5 and I'm still full from my Ice Chocolate!
Hope everyone is doing well, enjoy the pictures and I'll be in touch, bye for now!
