Well, couldn't find the name in the list of places so anyways, my aupair friend (Hungarian) Gabi came with me to Little Hampton. WE got a train from London Victoria that took nearly 2 hours and we arrived in this cute and friendly village. It was really refreshing coming from the big city.
So, we started our day out by looking for sand toys as Gabi wanted to build sandcastles. We shopped around for a bit and ended up finding a museum of the town. It was very interesting, huge history of ships, boats, that type of trading. There was an army unit called the 30AU, (Assault Unit) which was mostly made up of intelligence training and followup. We got to met Reg Rush, one of the original members as they were having their annual reunion that day! It was awesome to hear about it firsthand, reading isn't as much fun!!
After the museum, we walked around the town, found the beach that had both sand and pebbles so we got our buckets out, started making a sandcastle city...well, didn't get too far as high tide came in without us realizing it and we quickly needed to move out
and rebuild. It was a lot of fun, just enjoying the sunshine (yes, it was soo warm that I got a slight sunburn - didn't think of sunscreen). We walked along the pier and enjoyed an icecream, saw loads of swans and boats along the harbour. We saw the colorful beach houses and watched a couple of guys fly enormous kites. Never seen anything quite like it, I've put the video on youtube. I managed to buy a suitcase for when I return home and other than that, it was just a great day out with a cool girlfriend. So, that's my story for Little Hampton, it was unique experience I would do all over again. Enjoy the pics, hugs - Chloe
