Mark and friends decided to go check out Hadrian's wall and the coast at Tynemouth. Hadrian's wall was just ok. If we go again, we'll just do the "free route" since the actual wall is right off the street with an unlocked gate. The water was just a tad bit cold. However, this is the same water we plan to go scuba diving in this summer. May I have a dry suit please?!?!

Forget about a picnic...
You were 1/2 a block away from Marshalls. The best fish and chips you'll find anywhere. As one person put it, "if the fish were any fresher, it would be flopping around on your plate."

ps...it's Housesteads, not Homestead.
....and you really must see it. The entire countryside is beautiful. The Roman fort there is the best ruins we saw. Make a day of it, and continue to the Lake District. Go see Glenridding, on Ullswater lake. Spectacular!!! You've got lots to see and do, enjoy.
