Brrr... It was a cold night!
Mark turned 27-years-old today! Kaitlyn had been working quite hard to plan a lovely surprise dinner. She found the perfect place at Fisherman's Lodge. Here are some facts about the restaurant for those checking out our blog for future holidays.

Fisherman’s Lodge Restaurant in Jesmond Dene is a haven of calm a short drive from Newcastle centre. Long famous as a superb seafood restaurant, Fisherman’s Lodge was just named best Newcastle restaurant by Tatler magazine. Any questions? It is a stylish, elegant stone Victorian lodge, surprisingly spacious inside with luxurious fittings. Head Chef Jamie Walsh uses the best local lamb, beef and venison for his meat dishes and the freshest fish from the quay at North Shields for the core seafood offerings. But what’s truly special is that Fisherman’s Lodge is set right in the middle of a beautiful woodland valley.

Kaitlyn had a wonderful seebass and Mark chose the venison. Our meal lasted for a few hours and was absolutely fabulous!

So you liked Fisherman's Lodge
Jesmond Dene and the Lodge were VERY close to where we lived while there. We walked by the Lodge many many times, and always thought about having a meal there, but never did. Now I'm depressed we missed out on that since you enjoyed it so much. If you ever think of it, if you're out "Geocaching" sometime, there's a street that runs from Osborne Rd right down to the park called Lindisfarne Rd. Our street ran off Lindisfarne and was Adderstone Crescent. We lived at number 4 Adderstone Crescent...yes, it's millionare row. Check out some of the houses on that street. It's right behind St. Georges. There was a cute little cottage, I think called Rose cottage right across the street on the corner. Really nice gardens in the summer. Anyway...we heard the owner sold the house we lived in. It had a cool conservatory built in the early 1900's. We'd be curious if they've done any work on the place. If you ever think of it, and are bored, send us a few pics, to reminisce. Thanks for keeping the blog going, we love keeping up with your adventures, and remembering doing many of the same things you are experiencing. - The Graham's, Chesterfield, MO
