Hello everybody.

Well it's that time again to get stuck into some serious travel adventures again. Right now I'm at Heathrow terminal 3 where I will shortly be boarding an Iberia flight to Madrid and connecting onwards to Santiago and finally Punta Arenas, southern Chile. From there it's a 3 hour bus journey to Puerto Natales which will be the gateway to the Torres Del Paine National Park. Mr Webb-butler is currently enroute having departed last night and all being well he will meet up with me and Jon in Punta Arenas in the early hours of Monday morning UK time.

This is a rapid fire 3 week tour of South America and I will attempt to keep you updated throughout. We will visit 4 countries and travel approximately 22,000 miles. I believe the circumference of the globe is around 24,000 miles.

So, we are checked in ready to go and currently enjoying a civilised glass of Peroni in T3. Waldronhyrst is in the safe control of Mr Lehane (I hope), the cats have a stockpile of provisions and Marco and Jon are kitted out with the very latest state of the art trekking kit. Question is can any of us read a map? What can possibly go wrong?
