It's been 6 months since we've had a holiday. Our usual September motorhome trip was cancelled last year as I was booked for a new right knee on August 31st which meant No travelling for at least 6 weeks.
Summer had been very busy since we came back from the Swiss, Austrian trip in June. Hardly an empty day on the calendar with Bob's 75th and a couple of parties for that, a summer holiday visit from my grandchildren and then we fitted in a four night visit to Lisbon just before my op. Such a good decision and just what was needed especially with the wonderful summer weather we enjoyed.
New knee now in place and working exceedingly well thank you. Not tried swimming yet and surgeon says no breast stroke which is going to be tricky as that's what I've always swum. Hopefully I will develop a new style while we're away this time as all the hotels we've booked have pools. Had very little exercise really this past 6 months apart from some outings in October / November as it was so mild and such a lovely Autumn.
Now Spring is showing wonderful signs everywhere
and all the nest boxes in the garden are occupied with very busy 'nest material foraging' sparrows. It's been so unseasonably warm this last few days that it's made it easier to select sunny weather clothing for the suitcase. However first stop is Amritsar which is way up north in the Punjab and weather forecast for our first two days is rain and thunder storms. 3rd day is showing sunny. Hope that bit is right !
We're off tomorrow at a leisurely pace. Flight to Mumbai via Dubai at 13.10 and we should be at our hotel in Amritsar by mid afternoon on Wednesday. Hope to see you then.

Hi Joy, Melissa has just given me your blog as I had not received it. Will you pop this outlook address in your blog file please? Thanks very much for sending my present which has arrived early and is in storage. Melisa et al here until Saturday and we have spent lots of time with Rachel and 'the cousins' .
