We left Glaisdale and followed the river through East Arnecliff Wood to the pretty town of Egton Bridge. Continued into Grosemont, where we had coffee & saw the steam trains, before tackling the big hill out of town. It was then onto the moors again, Scarry Wood, Great Wood and lunch at Falling Foss waterfall. More boggy moors, with the sea now in view, we headed for the cliff path. It took about an hour, before we finally glimpsed Robin Hood’s Bay. As we reached town, we followed the beautiful cobbled street down to the ocean, had the (now) ritual swim in the North Sea before tossing our pebble in from the Irish Sea. A pint in Wainwright's Bar completed our journey.

36km

We continued our celebrations, having dinner with Barb & Bill, from Seattle, Sue & Simon, Kev & Bev, the Brits, the Green Team, from Germany & 8 of us, Australians - a magnificent finale to our trip.

Total walked in 12 days - 346 km
