SheepSheepSheep

I think they were up to something...they looked sheepish (ha).
Today was kind of a quiet day for the Family Robertson. We had as easy morning, chickens, rabbits, etc. Then we headed into Nottingham which turns out to be quite close! We started off at the Nottingham Castle of which there is really not much of the original buildings left now due to its history of fighting at that location. But there is still a museum on the site and the most recently built part of the castle. The museum had tons of Nottingham facts and was located on top of a big hill so had a great view (if you aren't afraid of heights so Nigel enjoyed it much more than Lori...). Then we found our way over to a shopping mall very close to the city centre which had even better shopping out in the market streets. We bought some more chocolate (of course) and Rachel was able to find her much sought after lanyard! We picked up a few more things and then headed back home. We had a water balloon fight in the backyard before dinner and then on the spur of the mo, ventured off in search of some pub grub. The first one we tried,

Mr & Mrs Happy tending to their 9 kids, all in a row.
The Rose at Hose (cuz it's in a village called Hose) doesn't serve food on a Tuesday (don't ask me why???) so we headed on to Ab Kettersly and the Sugarloaf (the pub name is the later and the former is the village name). Nigel finally got a lamb curry which pleased him very much (I'm sure the ales didn't hurt). Did I mention yet about the swan, fondly named Mr. Happy, that hisses at us each time we run by? The first time he did it, Russell said "Hey! He tried to kiss me!". We didn't correct him. The next time Russell rode by the swan actually chased him hissing and this time he said "Holy crap, that swan is trying to get me!". Now we use the bikes as a defence as we pass by and are excited whenever Mr. Happy is swimming instead of waiting on the canal shores for us to pass by! I assume he is a little tense due to the fact that he has 9 or ten signets to care for.....but honestly, they're pretty big now. Cut the cord, Mr. Happy!

Trip to Jerusalem
Nigel, whilst at Nottingham castle you must have visited "ye olde Trip to Jerusalem". It is literally below Nottingham Castle. It has the distinction of being the oldest pub in Britain, I believe it's about 800 years old, Crusaders stoped their on their way to Europe ! best wishes, Uncle Paul.
