Air & Space Hall
I visited in this museum twice because it's very interesting place in Manchester. I think the most interested one for tourists...

How to get there? Very easy - museum is loceted in city centre in Liverpool Road off Deansgate and almost opposite Bethel House (Hilton hotel) - the highest skyscraper in Manchester.

The Museum of Science and Industry consists five apart buildings. In each of these visitors could admire various mulitmedial exhibitions. For museum request were converted former industry buildings and eventually enhanced visitors impression.

Firstly we enter into Main Buidling. Inside we can find store and Xperiment for children at the second floor. Moreover we can see some textile machines that were used in Manchester industry. That time I could understand how looked a textile industry in Manchester during its best times.

Second building - 1830 Warehouse is located beyond Main Building. Overthere at the ground floor we can see exhibition regarding how electricity in our homes changed our life. I saw old computers that were bigger than me and I wondered about how technology developed since that time.

Third is Station Building - this is an original train station from 1830. First

floor - multimedial exhibition of photo cameras and ground floor - Making of Manchester - how the Manchester was built. There we can get to know of Manchester's history from Roman Empire remainings throught industrial revolution with sounds and smell, not necessary nice till present times. If you get downstairs you find Underground Manchester means sewage system.

Power Hall was built in 1855 r.). There are collected michanes and engines from 18th, 19th and the beginning of 20th century. Some of them working and let us to know in which condition people had to work just a few generations ago. Machines are in two divisions: Working Engines - industrial ones and Locomotive Display - locomotives from 19th century.

Air & Space Hall - the most interesting one in my humble opinion. If you want to get there you left building 4, go back to front gate passing asadi building one and finally cross over Lower Byrom Street. There are planes from various times, cars and different vehicles.

That all, more you might find out if you have a look for added pictures.

MOSI
I think this is main attraction for tourists in industrial Manchester. Some buildings in city centre have interesting architectonic style and I like to glance over them.

How big Manchester is?
I must disagree with your opinion regarding Manchester. Really Manchester is quite small. It's size is comparable with Szczecin - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Szczecin but it has a huge metropolitan area. The town these around Manchester are looked as the large villages, without any numerous office buildings. I don't say Manchester is backyard but I'm not overestimating it. I ought sat - this city is not so small but isn't so big indeed. Middle class city. You might have a look here - http://www.citypopulation.de/world/Agglomerations.html cheers
