Liverpool fans in the main square Hallo there fair people. Let me see where am I up to? I guess I don't have all that much to write about, and I don't really want to bore you with some of the things I've been doing lately. HOWEVER, this is my blog and you've chosen to read it so i'll bore you with whatever I bloody well like!
I've been doing a bit of job hunting lately. I went to an Australian themed bar called Uluru the other day to apply for a job. I didn't realise I would sink that low so quickly. They didn't have any jobs going then, which is lucky because the place smelt funny. I also got an application for a bookstore near my house, that would be a good job to have 'cause it's so close. I ALSO registered with some job agency that mainly get hospitality based work whenever it comes up. So not next week but the week after I should be working in the bar at the Manchester cricket ground for 4 days for some test match thing of which I have absolutely no idea about. So I can't wait to be serving those English cricket fans

More fans many, many litres of alcohol.
So Wednesday was the day of two very important football games. Urawa Reds vs Sydney FC (the one I cared considerably more about) I couldn't even watch so I relied on Sarah and Caddy to keep me updated, thanks both of you. It was a draw meaning Sydney have been knocked out of the ACL. Bit annoying having watched Sydney's entire ACL campaign only to not be able to see the crucial game... just a bit annoying.
Anyway, second game was AC Milan vs Liverpool. Seeing as Manchester is only a half hour drive away from Liverpool we ('we' being my uncle, his partner and I) decided to drive to Liverpool along with their friends a Scottish woman called Clare and a German man called Rupert. We arrived in Liverpool around 1:30pm and got lost straight away. We stopped to ask a man for directions, wound down the windows and an Australian, a German and a Scotswoman(?) all started talking to him at once. I think he was quite taken aback at first hah. According to my uncle he could only understand him, the Australian. So looks like our accent is the most

And more easily understood by Liverpudlians, people! Awesome.
We finally got to the centre of the city and got a park, then started to wander around. MOST people were in some form of Liverpool FC shirt, it was amazing. There were flags and banners everywhere, little stores selling merchandise, even normal clothing stores selling Athens shirts, the entire city was red. In Sydney I would be extremely lucky to see a person in a Sydney FC shirt unless I was close to the stadium. For the game we found a bar and watched it there. What can I say, I thought Liverpool were the better team but they lack finishers like Kaka and Inzaghi. But this isn't a football blog so I'll leave it at that.
Once the game finished we walked back to the car. I thought the crowd would be a lot more upset than they were, a lot of them did clear out straight away, but there was a good lot of people in the main square of the city who sang and that was pretty cool. I want to go back to Liverpool at some point, it kinda reminds me of Sydney but I'm not sure

Lyme Park House and lake - look familiar anyone? why. Maybe it's because not every single one of their houses is exactly the same who knows!
Today I went with Denise (my uncles partner) to this place called Lyme Park. It was a Tudor House, all the furniture is still there and you can walk through each room and through the gardens. It was all very pretty. Everything in England is very pretty I've found, it's all so green, and there are flowers everywhere etc. But back on to Lyme Park, it is actually the place where the BBC Pride and Prejudice was filmed!
I wanted to recreate the whole Mr-Darcy-emerging-from-the-lake scene, but I thought that might be a little inappropriate with Denise there, so I'll just wait until Alex gets here. You up for it Alex?
There was a deer park just behind the gardens so went in there too to see if we could find some deer. WE FOUND DEER! THEY LOOKED LIKE BAMBI!
We also went to a little castle thingy on the top of a hill. It had a good view over Manchester and the land around the city. It's so FLAT. I don't think I have come across one single

In the gardens hill in Manchester and that is not an exaggeration. It's all flat ground. CRAZY!
This arvo I did absolutely nothing. Except watch my daily wildlife show. I have become addicted to them, every night at 7pm one channel has these 'World's Most Dangerous Animals' show. They are hilarious. The other day there was one that focused on deadly Australian animals. Apparantly if we go in the water we will either be killed by a shark, a blue-ringed octopus or a jellyfish. If we go in the bush we will be killed by a crocodile or a snake. And even staying in our own home is not safe anymore because of the funnel web spiders. So please BE CAREFUL guys.
Anyhoo that's all from me for now. Toodle-oo.
