Hostel Bar
Awesome place to Hangout at! Cheers Fellow People and Stuff! December 17th 2012:
Today we flew into London from Dublin, and I was surprised that we did not have to go through customs. We took the Underground to our Hostil, and our Hostil is pretty Amazing. It is four stories at the Palmers Swiss Cottage, and I'm staying in a room with 14 people. We got to the Hostel at about 5pm. Everyone here is very nice, their accents are cool, but not as cool as in Dublin. They have a pretty cozy bar area that most people hangout at when they're not in town, and leads to a beautiful patio that is coverd for most of it, and has an outdoor area for smoking.
We found a local grocery store and I bought a sweet Bagette and Humus for less then 2 Pounds as a nice snack. The change here is crazy, it's not part of the Euro, and each and every cent piece, or Pence I should say, is not only a different size, but shape, width and design. It is hard to determine what each is worth. I am lucky enough to type today on a computer at the Hostel, making
Free Drinks with the Bartender!
One of the Awesome Bartenders with Free Drinks! it a World easier at typing compared to my phone. But unfortunately there is no spell check and I want to write these fast so I can get on the town! The keyboard is interesting, the " button and @ are switch on the keyboard and it's throwing me off a bit.
After walking around a bit, London reminds me of Ireland mixed with Los Angeles, where the buildings are old fasion, but the streets and buildings have a run down and kind of "getto" feeling to them. Since we got here late, we spent most of the day hanging out at the Hostel's bar, meeting people and having really good conversations. I talked with pretty much the most interesting girl ever that flew down for an acting audition, and was from Whales and would speak french with a dude from South Africa! I'll probably never see that again! I love the random phrases the British use, and it is fun just to listen to them talk, unfortunately I can't remember them, I think from now on I will carry a pen and paper to write them down!
We got to be really good friends with the Bartenders,
and ended up Partying with them at a "Employees Only" Party! All bars in London closes at 12, but we continued drinking with some travelers and all the Employees here and stayed up till about 3! The bartenders would would switch out ever so often, and ended up buying us rounds and rounds of Free Jaguar Bombs and Beer! It was a lot of fun, and the patio section outside with lights made for a beautiful place to hangout late.
Tomorrow we will be going on a Tour and after that we will go from there on what to do. The People at this Hostel are really Awesome. I am continuing to get little to no sleep, but it's definitely worth the extra time, adventues and memories that has come with it. I am absolutely having the time of my life on this Trip!
Cheers from London!
