Me and Tower Bridge
Another Gorgeous day in London Well, well, well.. here i am. Two weeks in and its all a bit wierd.
I cant believe i've been here for two weeks..And its interesting to say but not much has happened, although heaps has happened as well..This entry may be a litlle longer this time.. only coz i've been a bit lazy on my entries.. so here we go..!!
I wont give u a blow by blow of EVERYTHING that has happened, but i'll start with a bit of a run through.. I finally have my phone sorted out, not befoer i had ALL my phone # deleted from my phone in the process. i wasnt happy jan.. But besides that, the first week or so of my time in London has been doing the typical tourist like activites.. Walking, walking walking... I have done SO much walking.. The amazing thing about london is that u can walk ANYWHERE.. and if really get tired, theres always a tube station around the next corner..
As u'll probably see from my photos, i've already seen big ben, Trafalga square, Buckinham Palace, The British Museum and the National Gallery, the Science museum, the Themes and the London Eye,
The London Eye
This was on the day of the London Marathon, half the streets in the City were closed.. Picadilly Circus, Pall Mall, Leister Square and the West End, Covent Garden Market, Carnaby Rd, Oxford st, Tower Hill and thats just the first week!! With all this walking, i constantly feel like im seriously LIVING the monopoly board.. Whitchapel, Marbourough plc.. They're all they're and theyr'e all real..!!!
Some of the sights that i see just take my breath away, and sometimes u just find urself in a moment where u feel like ur standing inside of a postcard.. You know ur in Europe when ur standing standing, overlooking the Themes, listening to the bagpipes as they chime through the air on eve of a beautiful sunset lit sky... As the warm pink sky fills ur insides, ur eyes fall on the sights of Big Bena nd the houses of Parliament... Not a bad way to spend a saturday evening...(see Tara-Leigh's profile, theres a video of us there...)
But since my first week, we took the bus up to Peterbourough, to meet a couple of Tara's realtives, Bob and Heather, in a little town called Oundle. Gorgeous little town, the quintessential english countryside that is so reminiscant of famous english tv shows.. So nice to get out
History Museum
This was taken from the top of the top floor of the museum, Gorgeous building.. of the bustling city for a couple of days. They were SO hospitable, and the nicest people. They also wouldnt let us pay for ANYTHING the whole time we were there!! Me and Tara were just excited enough that we had electric blankets!!!
But whilst we were there, they took us to Cambridge. Cambridge reeks of prestige and pompousness.. Absolutely beautiful none the less. Its amazing to walk the immaculately manicured lawns and realise that thousands of amazing scholars have walked the same lawns.. Now it was MY turn!! ... But seriously, only the higher echelons of academia were offically allowed to walk on the grass. Common people are actually not allowed to walk there!!
We spent two days with Bob and Heather before heading back to London and continuing more sightseeing.. I think ive finally got my bank account sorted out so i can transfer funds so enough.. hopefully..!!
Since we arrived, we had been staying with tara's distant relative Val, whom had been SO nice to let us stay till for three weeks or so or till we got ourselves sorted out and had place of our own..
But i think that it had gotten to the point where we the idea sounded better in theory. Val was slowly starting to get to the end of her tether and whether or not it was me or not, i decied it was time to head out..
Ive now temporarily moved into a friends house in East Acton. (as u'll see in my fosters video if i can get it working...) Their names are Erin and Bec and some of u may know them!!! (#wink wink# mol and nads... aer u still abusing erin for not writng??)
But yeah, thats the update at the moment, erin and Bec are in Turkey for Anzac day so i'm baby sitting till theuy get back. As theyre a lot more central, it will also be heaps easier to find work and a place.. But all is good at the moment, i'm still happy, missing lots of ppl all the time, but doing well..
Write soon everyone, miss u heaps..
Signing off..
