The ring!
This is my "engagement ring"!
OOOO... so pretty! Hello dearies!
I went shopping for an engagement ring today!! It’s very beautiful and worth all £3!
Ok so now that I’m sure I have sufficiently scared most everyone, I’ll explain my recent purchase. In light of the fact that I am going to Morocco tomorrow, I have been told by several people who have been that it is a good idea to wear an engagement/ wedding ring so that I might not be hassled as much by some of the locals --especially when we go to the big markets in Marrakech. Now, the whole “being hassled thing” might not be much better news than me being engeged, but no worries, every one that we have talked to has absolutely loved Morocco! - and this is including lots of women who have gone by themselves. The rings are more of a precaution than anything. The four other girls that are going with me on the trip have all purchased their rings as well so we are looking pretty classy. We decided last night though that it is freaking all of us out a bit to even pretend to be engaged. Considering that we all know people who are our

This is the "I love him... but do I really want to marry him?" ring.
THe photo is curtesy of Meg. age and are engaged or married is just a little too close for comfort.
So now that I have gotten that out of the way, can I say that I am so excited to go to Morocco!!!! We are leaving around 2pm tomorrow and it will be about a four hour flight. Our hotel in Agadir is on the beach and has a swimming pool! The weather is supposed to be sunny and in the seventies so it will definitely be a fabulous vacation from all the cold rain that has been coming down around here in London. I will try and post a blog when I am in Morocco, but it might be a week before you here from me again because I am not taking my computer along.
On another note… I finished up two of my classes this past week. The papers and tests were lame, but I got through them alright though. I don’t know when I will get my grades for them, but at this point I really don’t care. (Isn’t that horrible of me!?!?).
I had my internship interview on Wednesday and although I was really nervous, it actually turned out to be
T-rex!
This picture is horrible, yet glorious!
Rawr!!! great! My internship is in Novas Art Gallery, which works specifically homeless and mentally ill artists. For a long time Novas was only a non-profit business that gave food and shelter to the homeless, but recently they added galleries because they realized that art is such a powerful tool for expression. So now they started offering free art classes for those who cannot afford it, and then sometimes they will show the work in their galleries in hopes of the artists being able to make some money and maybe even become successful enough to have a career. I love it!!
The woman who interviewed me was young and very chill, so I think that made the interview a little easier. She said that I will be helping out in all the different sections that help run the gallery, including going to homeless shelters and meeting some of the artists and even possibly taking some art classes with them. The best part is that I will be able to help set up the new shows, which they rotate every month. Yea!!! This means I will get use power tools!! So Terry- when I get back, hopefully I will have become an
Look at the baby dino's!
They are such cute carnivors!
I think I want one for a pet! expert on the measuring and not mess everything up like I have done with you so many times! (p.s.- thanks for being so patient with me!!) p.s.- can I work in the gallery with you senior year?
So to say the least, I am so excited about my internship. I officially start on the 28th and will work for 3 full work days/ week. Hopefully it will be as great as it sounds!
To end, here are some pictures from the Natural History Museum. Arianna and I went yesterday to go explore the dinosaur section, and it was amazing! At the end of this really long walk way, there is a giant wall, and when we walked around it there is full scale T-rex that moved and roared. To be honest, I was not too impressed, but the four year old girl that was behind me apparently was terrified out of her mind. She was screaming louder than the T-rex!
-Hey Dad- it reminded me of that time you took me to see Jurassic Park and I was crying hysterically. Hahaha! I know you were so embarrassed ! To be fair though, I also cried
