"Lest We Forget"

Remembrance Day Memorial, Carshalton Every year, around 11th November (the date of the signing of the Armistice Treaty in 1918, at 11am, to end World War One), we commemorate and remember those who have fought and died in war for Great Britain. The poppy flower is worn as a symbol of remembrance; it was the poppy flower which grew in the fields of Flanders following the battles of World War One.
