Near to and built at same time, 1420, as Forbidden Palace, The Taoist Temple of Heaven symbolizes the relationship between earth and heaven. Hmm interesting....

No1a Experience - Island Hopping, Indonesia

Just what we needed after a long year of travel. The ultimate deserted tropical beach paradise at Seraya Island. Lush beaches and superb snorkelling an hour boat ride from Flores.

No1b Experience - Island Hopping, Indonesia

Eventually leaving Seraya on a private boat to sail to Rinca&Komodo to see Komodo Dragons and other amazing scenes.

No2 Experience - Snorkelling at Pulau Sipadan, Malaysia

The BEST marine life experience. Teeming with huge turtles, sharks, massive shoals of fish in Sabah, Borneo.

No3a Experience - Inca Trail, Peru

Hard altitude treking for 3 days on the NON CLASSIC Inca Trail. To avoid the crowds of westerners we went on a alternative trek with breath-taking scenery on the opposite side of the Urubamba valley from the main route still following ancient trails to Machu Picchu.

No3b Experience - Inca Trail, Peru

The only people we saw were the small Andean mountain communities where we pitched our tents. Solitude.

No4 Experience - Trucking Overland, South America

2 months touring South America in a specialized truck camping out in remote places with some great people (and one not so great a person!)

No5 Experience - Perhentian Chilling, Malaysia

Watching 30 World Cup games, chilling out quite tiny island beaches with lush snorkelling. Just what the doctor ordered.

No6a Experience - Treking in New Zealand

Tongariro Crossing the best 1 day trek. Very hard going up sheer volcano but worth it when you get to the top. AKA Mount Doom.

No6b Experience - Treking in New Zealand

Abel Tasman Coastal Track. 3 days walking/camping along some beautiful golden sandy beaches and torquise seas.

No6c Experience - Treking in New Zealand

2 Day trek of Queen Charlotte Track along the bays and ridges of the Marlborough Sounds at the top of the South Island

No7 Experience - Sailing Whitsundays, Australia

On Solway Lass for 4 days of incredible beaches, superb snorkelling, good old fashioned salior drinking. A great way to spend my birthday.

No7b Experience - Sailing Whitsundays, Australia

Stopping off at lush beach of Whitehaven. One of the best beaches in the world.

No8 Experience - Heli-Hiking, New Zealand

Helicopter up Fox Glacier to access and explore hard to get to spectacular DEEP BLUE ice caves and arches.

No9 Experience - Jungle Trekking, Malaysia

up the wild Sungai Kinabatangan River in Borneo Sabah. Teeming with wildlife including this rare wild Orangu-tangs, loads of types of monkey, pythons, weird hornbills etc. Shame we just missed the running elephants. We stayed in just a wooded hut with no running water for 3 days

No9b Experience - Jungle Trekking, Malaysia

The very odd almost human looking proboscis monkey with their huuugee noses, which are only found on Borneo.

No10 Experience - Treking Tiger Leaping Gorge, China

Spectacular 3 day trek up in the clouds of the longest, deepest, and narrowest gorge in the world near Lijiang in Yunnan Province.

No11a. Experience - Dolphin&Whale Watching, New Zealand

Boat trips to see acrobatic dolphins and showing off in Akaroa, Pihia etc.

No11b Experience - Dolphin&Whale Watching, New Zealand

Huge sperm whales (the 2nd largest whale type) in Kaikoura. Also saw massive Royal Albatross, Yellow Eyed Penguins and large Sea Lions.

No12 Experience - Splore Festival, New Zealand

Perfect idylic Setting for a Glasto type 3 day music festival on the coast of beautiful beaches where you can cool off in the water next to the stage.

Great Finale!
Hi Guys, As fellow 1 year RTW bloggers, it is great to read your final blog.. We finish up in about a month (so sad!), but your blog has reminded us of all the great things we´ve done in our year too! Love the funny photos and goodluck for the future!

Love the Funny Names...
I'm in Germany at the mo, near Düsseldorf, and today I've seen a bus company called "Fücker Reisen" and in the supermarket there was "Slag-Fix" "Dich Milch" and chololate called "Firklover" from Norway. But I didn't have me camera with me ... sorry. BTW your journal was fun to read too. ANDY
