Being Home!!
Home is where the heart is. Or so the saying goes. But after a perfectly good flight, on a perfectly good airline, with a perfectly good travelling companion, the heart isn't too sure where it belongs.
A clear day and large airplane windows brings perfect views of Southend, Essex and London. Arriving at Heathrow, the arduous walk to Passport Control allows us to contemplate our lives past customs. A reality beckons, one that neither of us are prepared for and one we are not the least bit interested in. Our arrival at Heathrow was far more low key than our send off 119 days later. Nevertheless, our homecoming was greeted with excitement (By Mummy Lesley and Mummy Rachel). As we walked through the arrivals hall to our Mum's reality stuck Chris like a ton of proverbial bricks. Sadness swept over the both of us. . . . .
It's not that we don’t have things to be grateful for, nor do we have terrible lives back home. In fact we have many things to be grateful for...... None of which enter our mind as we trudge at a slow pace towards the Short Stay
Car Park. Wave after wave of fatigue and emotion plague our ridiculously long journey home. A 6 mile tailback on the M25 and even worse on the North Circular providing us with an even less savoury taste of life in the UK.
As this chapter of our lives has come to an end, we can reflect on a great four months. We had a Fantastic time away, visiting some amazing places, eating some lovely (and some bloody horrible) food and met some truly fantastic people, some of which we really hope to stay in close contact with!
Its been hard to adjust to life back home, but made easier by friends and family showing the haven't forgotten us, by throwing the two of us a Welcome home party. Which we were both grateful for. We are glad we were missed!
Now is time for the long hard slog to begin, jobs to find, careers to begin, a house to save for, a life together to look forward to.... Because if the last four months has proved anything to us it's (as Jack Johnson says) "it's always better when we're together!"
We have really enjoyed bringing
our latest dramas to you. It has been so much fun, we hope you have enjoyed them too.
Love to all....
The end..... or is it just the beginning?!
