The quest for visas has been a long and tiresome journey, our nepalese vis succumbed quite easily via post.next was the chinese one! which involved setting off from the lake district @ 6.30 to manchester where we came across rush hour traffic ,and due to having no A-Z mild confusion.after receiving a guiding light from a very pleasant post office clerk we were soon heading in the right direction, and were even walking up the stairs to the visa office, only to find that our wallets were indeed empty.........Doh! so another mission was formed in order to find cash. after drivng round again we came across an empty ATM ,then a sainsburys (without an ATM) and finally one with money in,that charged you to get it out :-(.after heading back to the embassy (& spotting that sainsburys did infact have a cash machine)our documents were soon processed and within an hr or so the visa was in the bag! then onwards to the pakistan consulate, only to find that we didnt have all the correct info....Doh
So lodgings were found at granny caunce's and the info was gleaned off the net.we set off bright and early the next day only to find that indeed it was pakistan independance day,and thus the embassy was shut :-(
A week later we went back and after a few questions the visa was soon in our hands, well it would be at 4pm,and helly had to be at work for 6.It was close.
Another day another visa, this time it was india we had in our sights and the destination was birmingham, which is again a place neither of us had been to before. after some exceedingly long queues and profuse sweating once again we had succeeded in our quest, which for now is over. However sept 9th is coming quicker and quicker, Bye for now :-)
