Today was one of the best drives for scenery yet - it took about four hours to drive from Edinburgh to Windermere in the lake district. Kept stopping to admire the views - also stopped for a while in the little village Paul’s dads descendants had emigrated from - found the local graveyard and there was a lot of Armstrongs buried there. I have had the worse day yet flu wise - once we got to our B&B at about 2.30 I pretty much just jumped into bed and had a few hours sleep. Would have loved to be able to go with Paul for his walk around the village but decided to try and get rid of this head cold. Later we ended up going into the next village down by the lake for a cheapo carvery dinner which was not as bad as I had thought it was going to be - only three pound ninety - good value for us tight wads!! Off down further south tomorrow - got to be in Stoneleigh on Sat for Paul's Landy show so are staying in nearby Coventry on Friday night. Then off to Wales on Sat arvo.
