Lakes District
The UK really looks a lovely country, especially the Lakes area. And it seems you were there at the right time when the Autumn leaves were in full colour, the photos are great. Pam has told me about the Blackpool Rock. What did it taste like and do you think the English Lollie Shop at Hilarys would sell it ? Sounds like your having a great time munching your way through your travels. Did Rags get to taste the Haggis ? It doesn't appeal to me when I hear the Poms over here talking about it, but I suppose I would have to have a taste for myself if I was in the home of the Haggis! Glad to hear the weather was kind to you. Cheers, love Mum

Been there
Blackpool? I was in the Police in that area on Traffic. Yes the lights are better at night. But many things are, I had a wife that was! The Lakes are magnificent and an artists delight. Spend more time in places if you are able. There is SO much to see of years past.

Derby
It was a shame that you bypassed Derby, where "Bonny Prince Charlie" arrived at on his conquest of England. There are hills of limestone where you pick up fossilised sea shells and the ‘Blue John Mines plus the plague village of Eyam and not forgetting the grave of Little John of Robin Hood days at Hathersage. Roman Roads abound in that area and many 7,000 year old Neolithic grave sites.

Derby
Oh Dave, wish you'd told us there was something to see at Derby before we went passed it! We'd always love to stay longer in an area especially the Lakes District and Ben Lomond Park. Thanks for the comments. Cheers Judy
