Toyota exhibition
Lots of new toys here, from sports cars, luxury models and people movers This blog I'm afraid will be a bit of a mixed bag, as it is a bit reliant on being able to download camera pics.
After leaving the Osaka area, we flew to Tokoyo and stayed in the central bussiness area. We visited Tokoyo Tower, Imperial Palace, Toyota display centre, the Giza area (major department store shopping area) and Electric City. Didn't realise there was so much variety in computers, MP3s, Ipods, toasters and toilet seats!!!😊 Yes the Japs have auto toilet seats that do almost everything for you, including wiping your bum.
The best part of Tokoyo of course was catching up with Maimai and Aki (you remember cute little Maimai, she was our first exchange student) We went out to dinner at Shinigawa the night before we left Japan. Aki is still at uni and Mai is in a traineeship with Hitatchi, and they are now very much young women and not kids anymore - how our babies grow up!
Morning of the 27th we flew from Tokoyo to London. This was the most amazing flight, as we we flew across the top of the world over Russia, Siberia, Ural Mountains, floating Ice packs, Finland, The Baltic Sea, Sweden
Out to dinner with Maimai and Aki
Aki collected us from our motel, and we met Maimai at Shinigawa and Denmark (We waved at Princess Mary as we went over!) before finally landing at Heathrow.
12hr flight, we were both knackered to say the least!! Went to a couple of Pubs before retiring for the night.
Spent 2 days in London - expensive place to visit as food prices are through the roof, but wouldn't have missed it for the world. Our hotel was as Hyde Park, next to Buckingham Palace (didn't catch up with the neighbours - think they were busy). Visited London Bridge, Oxford Street, Piccadilly Circus, London Eye (Big ferris wheel) and the Tower of London. Here we did a tour, and the Yeoman (tour guide) was awesome. It was like a walking stage show where he joked and gave a good rundown of the history. The crown jewels, suits of armour, weapons on display were excellent, and would recommend anyone visiting London to visit the Tower of London as a must. On our last evening in London we went to see Les Miserable at the Queens Theatre at Piccadilly Circus, which was also absolutely fantastic. Leaving London via the Train station at Liverpool Street we headed for our next destination, Bury St Edmunds. Bury St
Tower of London
Emma has always had a bent for men in uniform. The Yeoman are the keepers of the castle
Edmunds is on the eastern side of England in the Cambridge area, and is a bit like stepping back in time. Very quaint place with a few factories off to one side. Here we visited Emmas brother Steven who currently lives and works in the area, and he gave us a walking tour about the town. We visited the Smallest pub in I think the Northern Hemisphere called "The Nutshell", had a couple of beers there, also the Abey Gardens where the Tulips and flowers were at about there best. After dinner I bombed out early as I was still catching up on the jetlag I think.

Wowee!
Sounds like you are both having a ball, but jeepers sounds like it's a jammed packed holiday too. Unless it's just me getting muddled up with how many days your in places, if not - remind me never to go on holidays with you two you'd wear me out :) Thanks for the pics and the updates, very interesting. I even showed Lachlan your travelblog of Japan, he was pretty impressed (perhaps you should have packed him in your suitcase lol). Take care of yourselves! - KB
