Sometimes I would have day dreams about stepping off the plane in Bristol and seeing her excited face! I can't tell you HOW ECSTATIC I was to see her! Well, that moment finally came after counting down the days to November 2nd. We exited the Bristol airport immigration gates around 6pm and there ... Read Full Entry

this Inn was seriously in the middle of nowhere and there was a creepy ghostly feeling about the place, typical for Dartmoor. We had a great time looking at the logbook and stamping in. And the Jail Ale was great!

in the US we have our own stamps but we thought it would be easier to carve a stamp for both of us to use in Dartmoor. The stamp is meant to represent us on our trip travelling all over and finding refuge in our little tent. we called our tent tofu town b/c it was safe and we had our own space and we could be ourselves in our tofu town land.

we laughed so hard that night. i don't know what it was, maybe the exhaustion of being on the moors all day or maybe it was the beers but mom's jokes were the funniest they had ever been!

I think we heard some of mom's classics like, "Let's be frank, jim" and "i've toasted a few ciao's" from mom a couple of times that night.

And for the final laugh...as we all know mom is hilarious to travel with b/c 1. she loves england and 2. she finds everything to be soooo different than the US...so she was eyeing the cake display all through dinner and then decided to ask our poor waitress (who probably thought we were drunk or crazy b/c all we did was laugh) "what that elusive english delicacy was called in the display" and she answered back..."it's called apple pie, ma'am". mom's dreams were crushed, that wasn't exotic at all!!

Navigator.
I laughed, and Laughed, and LAUGHED at Tages driving, and Emily being the navigator. if you're anything like me and Brad, we fight like crazy when in an unfamiliar place. I'm the navigator and have a way of getting distracted. One wrong turn, and I have Brad telling me we don't have any time for mistakes. Yes, this happened in Pittsburgh, and any other time we have been anywhere outside of our element. Good times!
