Andy says: So we're sat on our lunch break doing what I promised myself I wouldn't - planning!
When the original decision was made to undertake a trip to Vietnam I was absolutely definitely not going to plan anything other than getting in and getting out of the country with the rest in between all due to be an awesome adventure. Various things have intervened and meant that the scheduled departure date has come forward giving us an additional 3 weeks which we plan to spend in Thailand and this is where my OCD planning gene has gone into overdrive in an attempt to try and see everything in the 22 days we have there.
The problem is that the more I read about places the more amazing things I discover that we want to see from playing with tigers in Kanchanaburi to swimming with whale sharks in Koh Tao. We seem to have managed to figure out a basic plan which on paper looks amazing but in reality might be a bit much - I guess we'll figure it out while we're over there. Vietnam is still completely unplanned and we want it to stay that way.
Whatever happens its going to be 'minter' than a pack of Wrigleys.
We now have under 5 weeks to go so it's a case of quitting jobs, moving out of houses, getting injections and visas etc etc. The list of things to buy is pretty long - the one I'm most excited about is a Leatherman with a massive knife so I can go fuck shit up - snakes, sharks, moths and mental Thai people should all be afraid…very afraid.
Dan says: Well as you can see Andy and I have decided to set up a blog to keep everyone up to date on our adventures across SE Asia. That trip however is 4 weeks away, so right now I'm sitting at my desk bored out of my tiny head - I've run out of ideas for blu-tack sculptures and I've pretty much read the entire contents of Wikipedia, as well as checking out the various features of my new Leatherman! So I thought I may as well get in early and post something to get me started on this whole blogging thing!
As you can see Andy let his massive planning obsession take rule
and started planning our first three weeks in Thailand. Needless to say I have the attention span of a goldfish…I HAVE A LEATHERMAN WITH A BIG KNIFE…but I noticed how amazing some of these place looked and the idea of getting a scuba license is amazing, so I began to take more of an interest. Apparently this increased attention span freaked Andy out so he ordered me back to my desk to read more Wikipedia. Ah well he was always better at planning. Anyway even if I'm not 100% sure on the place we are going to (I have to practice the names before I can get it right!) this trip is going to kick ass!!
Love, Peace and Chicken Grease.
Speak soon homies!!
