At last - the trip is completely booked!

So, with the car hire now booked, we are finally ready to go! All we need to do now is survive the next four months before getting a break from working!

Got to love bookings.com. Made it sooo easy to sort out accomodation. We've found what look like some pretty decent places to stay (some apartments, some basic B&Bs and some more flash looking hotels).

We've planned as follows, although God knows it will probably change again...




• 4th July - fly from Heathrow to Salzberg. Spend a few hours pootling round and eating lunch, before catching the train to Zagreb. The journey is about 7 hours long and is meant to have amazing scenery to take in along the way. Book into Zig Zag Apartments on arriving (we think about 9.30pm)
• 5th July - explore Zagreb. We hope to visit The Museum of Broken Relationships (more on this later!) and the Britanac Antique Market
• 6th July - collect hire car (trusty Renault Megane, but can I reach the pedals I ask myself?) and drive to Pula, where we will be staying the night at Apartments Ribarska Koliba
• 7th July - Plitvice National Park, where we will be staying in the Villa Irene
• 8th July - Explore Plitvice lakes and maybe hire a row boat
• 9th July - Drive to Trogir and book into Trogir Stars Apartments. Drink lots of champagne, as Simon will now be 40!!!!!!!!!!!!
• 10th-11th July - Explore Trogir and Split
• 12th July - Drive to Budva, Montenegro, where we will be staying in Spa Resort Becici
• 13th July - Explore Montenegro
• 14th July - Drive back to Dubrovnik, where we will be staying in Paradis Apartments
• 15th-16th - Explore Dubrovnik
• 17th - Drive back to Zagreb, where we will be staying in The Esplanade Hotel
• 18th - Fly home (#verysadday)
