Salamander

Igor found this salamander on a hike. After holding it he would be careful not to touch his eyes because the salamander's skin was slightly poisonous, he explained.

This waterfall was about a kilometer from our camp

UPA shakedown?

The UPA (Ukrainian Rebellion Army) is enjoying a kind of revival in the wake of tensions with Russia. This guy was sort of vintage, though, like maybe he was still fighting the Poles.

Searching for Putin

Turned out our UPA fighter was only an actor hired by the tourist train we were riding. Here he is showing us a vintage wanted poster with Putin's face Photoshopped in.
