To Interlaken

Up at 5:00am and out the door in 40 minutes. I had to haul the luggage down two flights of stairs but rolling to the train station was downhill. Mom got coffee for us. She knows I like mine weaker she asked for it to be cut in half and they did. Gave her half a cup! Whatever. Had another quick change of trains. I have found that just because you take the 2167 from one town to another, it doesn't mean that you won't change trains. It could be several trains. Backtracked from Zermatt to Montreux and then the Golden Pass from there to Interlaken. Beautiful scenery. Hotel Interlaken is very nice. It's 4 star but close to rail station. Nice room with balcony overlooking park with koi pond. Mom loves that. Ditched our stuff and headed for the boat ride to Brienz on the Brienzsee. Nice paddle wheel boat and Mom likes boats. An hour later we checked out the town and took the 17 minute train ride back. Remember, all train rides are free with our pass.

Weather a bit cloudy in the highlands so I didn't book the Jungfraujoch trip to the mountains. We went to dinner at the hotel and had another nice meal. This cook is a real chef! Checked out the koi again but going to bed by 10 we hope.

Lake Brienz
Went on a boat ride this afternoon. Look at the color of the water. Wow!

A stop on the lake
The boat takes us to the town of Brienz and then back to Interlaken, stopping at these little places on the way. Whole trip takes about 1 hr. We took the train back from Brienz since it was only about 15 min.

Mom liked it. We went to bed with the windows open to hear the waterfall but they shut it off at 10pm. Bummer.
