It was another wet day, so we took it very easy! We did school work in the morning for a couple of hours (Tom even wrote a poem about the cars he had seen the day before), then we went down to Ronco for a pizza lunch. Of course, you cannot go anywhere in Ronco without being identified - the maitre d' at the restaurant turned out to be a friend of Zio Luciano and knew Rita and Elio well! We visited the zii for an afternoon coffee, then returned home for a quiet dinner.

When we were visiting the zii for coffee, the houses are so small that there is nowhere for the kids to play - and they have lots of little glass knickknacks at little boy height! As the town is completely pedestrianised, we sent them out to play in the street, with instructions to call "Zia" if they needed help -- they are related to half the town, so someone would come! Georgia took photos of the boys climbing into the washing tubs, used by the women of the village to wash clothes until mid last century!
