Switzerland & Liechtenstein

I ended up going to Switzerland instead of Paris due to the convenient massive train strike in the country and city. I went with Katrin, Abby, Zach, and Brice. We took a night train to Zurich on Thursday night and arrived Friday morning. Zurich is a gorgeous city and it was all decorated for Christmas! We got Starbucks then took a train and a bus into the city of Vaduz in Liechtenstein. This country is not big at all and its an active monarchy. We did some shopping and walked around, then went back to Zurich. Zurich is so full of history and clean. We walked down a street with all these shops and ate at the cafeteria, Manora. We crossed the river over the bridge to an old church. It started to rain but we had our umbrellas! After wandering around the city we decided to leave and take a train to Grindelwald, a mountain town on the Alps just outside of Interlaken. We arrived in Grindelwald that night and found a sketchy hostel to stay in. The town is like a ski resort town and is super cute! There are huge mountains surrounding it but it was sad because everything was foggy =( We tried to find a way up to the top of the mountain but it was too expensive. Still, we had a good time walking around and eating. We finally took a train back to Florence Saturday afternoon because it was so foggy, stopping in Interlaken and Spiez which was so pretty. Katrin and I watched Friends gag reel on the way from Milan to Firenze and could not stop laughing on the train. I felt bad for the Italian people around us. Sunday I wrote my humanities paper and did all my homework. Basta. A weekend in the crazy life of a Pepperdine overseas student.
