Country music night in Bern

we were told to go to a "Communist/Anarchist bar" in Bern. We showed up and it was country music night with two guys in cowboy hats and thick German accents singing 60s era country music in English?!?!?! It was very interesting.

Two live bears that are kept in a sad little sunken hole in the ground that constantly pace back and forth all day trying to find a reason to live. And that is a tourist attraction in Bern

our jail hotel

this is the second jail hotel I have stayed in in Europe, this one was changed from a jail into a hotel in 1998! I was suprised to hear that there were prisoners in my room until then.

there are multiple paintings like this on this bridge showing skeletons leading people from all walks of life to their deaths. Interesting.
