Zurich

It was time to make my first relative stop over in Switzerland, 20minutes out of Zurich. After 3 months of traveling solo, seeing the inside of Backpacker hostels and fighting for shower time in communal bathrooms, it was a pleasant change of events. Whilst the home cooked meals and comfortably sleeping arrangements was a dream and uncomparable. The pleasure of spending time again with my Uncle, Auntie, two cousins and the new second generation Swiss Garra's were very memorable and unforgettable, compared to my short passing visit some nine years ago.

Just over two and half weeks was a welcome change, relaxing and site seeing at your leisure and off course eating well (thank you Zia). Zurich is a great city to explore with the centre piece being lake Zurich where locals bath and sunbath in the heat of the day. Old town and new compliment each other with winding streets, and abundant of trendy shop outlets and historical site to see. An Impecable public transport system always on time, the down side it is very expensive for a one way trip (20min.) into town would set you back $15.00AUD. So i limited the number of trips into Zurich and spent most of the time basking in the sun, eating and sight seeing with my cousins.

I wish to thank Gio and Seline for their hospitality and guided tour of Seline home town of Lucern, Ilenia and friend Anna for introducing me to Zurich's crazy STREET PARADE where almost over 100,000 party revelers dress up in unimaginable costumes and party away on the streets of Zurich once a year to the sound of competing DOOF DOOF music on giant colorful floats moving ever slow slowly. A BIG THANKS to Zio & Zia for welcoming me once again into your home.
