Although it was dull and showery we pressed on with our planned boat trip to the outer Stockholm Archipelago and had an excellent day.

We caught the Cinderella II in central Stockholm and for over two hours it wound its way through the many islands sometimes getting very close to the shore and making several stops on route before arriving at our destination, Sandhamn on the edge of the Archipelago. The islands are fairly rocky, mainly covered with pines and a majority have small settlements or the odd summer house on them.

We walked around pretty Sandhamn which is composed of mainly wooden buildings on narrow unpaved streets and then had an excellent lunch of local white fish and potatoes at the only pub on the island.

Our return trip was on the Daloro which took us to Stavnas where we caught a bus across a few of the larger islands back to Stockholm where we arrived in the late afternoon.

Tomorrow we head north up the Baltic Coast towards the Arctic Circle.
