Dalarna

The last of a chilled few days with a good friend in the Ludvika area. The final stretch of the journey was made by bus due to the collapsed bridge at Ludvika station. You can't get close to it but I could see there was still quite a mess there. Hope those injured get proper compensation.

My chum lives in a small village outside Ludvika, picturesquely set beside Lake Väsman with forests all around. Spent most of the time catching up and putting the world to rights but we also had time for a trip to nearby Smedjebacken, where there was an interesting art exhibition in a former industrial building. The theme was identity and featured works from artists with Finnish heritage (of which there are plenty in southern Dalarna), my favourite being http://www.iiususiraja.com/ who uses her body in extraordinary ways in her art.

Tomorrow, onto Oslo - my first visit to the Norwegian capital.
