Madrid

I am now in Madrid, Spain. It is nice to be back. I was here once before in 2005 and I am looking forward to seeing some of the same sights - and maybe a few new ones. My first goal, however, is to try to adjust my biological clock to Spanish time. I remember being hungry much of the time when I was here twelve years ago because I couldn't adjust to eating lunch around 2-3 PM and dinner around 10 PM. Restaurants were always closed when I thought it was time to eat. So this time I will try harder to give in to the Spanish way of doing things. I arrived at the airport this afternoon and ate a late lunch. It is now almost ten o'clock, so it is about time to go out and find dinner. I had a chance to wander around downtown earlier this evening, so before I go, I will share three of my photos: the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, and Puerta del Sol with its Tio Pepe sign and statue of a berry-eating bear.
