My host parents and I went to mass on Sundays at 8:00 at night. The mass in Barcelona is a little different than a mass in the United States. Other than the mass being in Spanish, one of the most noticeable differences about the mass in Barcelona is that they don't serve wine during Communion. Also, there is no padding on the kneelers, which makes kneeling a little more uncomfortable.

In some ways, the masses here were similar to the masses at the Mission Church in Santa Clara. There were a lot of young people there because there was a high school affiliated with the church, St. Isabel. Also, the music is lively and interesting, like the music at the student masses at Santa Clara. These two points, combined with the mass being at night makes it similar to a student mass at Santa Clara.
