Awaken on day #2 in Spain and it is off to Segovia! Took the effective high speed train after another espresso at the Atocha station. Then hopped on the bus from the Segovia station to downtown(?) Segovia. The first thing you see is the massive Aqueduct. It is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Even the pictures do not do it justice. Walked across town to the Alcazar Castle. Very cool castle, especially enjoyed the Monarch Room, and it was fun to climb up the top and take in the views.

Grabbed a delicious lunch at La Frasca (it is in the Fodor’s guide - FYI). Excellent place, sat outside and just took in Segovia. I had a delicious baguette with pork loin, queso, & peppers My gf had the tortilla, which was also very good. Highly recommend this spot! The other great food choice was having a delicious ponche segoviano at Limon y Menta near the Plaza Mayor. Such a sweet treat!

Saw the Cathedral. Definitely some interesting paintings and worth the visit. Around this time, started to get tired from the jet lag and early morning start. Ended the trip in Segovia eating ice cream & crepes with a view of the Roman Aqueduct. When we got back to Madrid, wandered a little and then grabbed some paella for dinner. Back to the hotel to rest, another early morning tomorrow with a visit to Toledo.
