We drove from the caves to our hostel and we saw this beautiful lake. The hostel was nice because the people were nice. It had a tight room but it was good for the 3 of us and also I had the whole bathroom for myself because no other people on our floor. We were supposed to go to dinner we got super duper lost. It was scary because it was dark and tiny roads. Finally we got to our restaurant. We wanted to get Slovenian food since we were in Slovenia so we ordered a fish called trout that lived in Lake Bled. Then we go this hamburger type thing that was super good and this amazing sausage. There was this sauerkraut from Slovenia but Vitor and I did not like it. For dessert we had crepes. I of course had it with Nutella, my brother got it with hot berries, and my dad got it with vanilla ice cream. When we had the car ride back to the hostel it was even scarier. It was like we ended up on a farm but we didn't. So it was very scary so I closed my eyes for a little bit. Finally we got back to the hostel and we just chilled in our room.
The next day was one of my favorites. We went skiing! We had to put a lot of clothes on to keep warm. We took a gondola to get up to our mountain. Then we put on our shoes, but my dad and I did skiing but Vitor did snowboarding. When I was skiing it started to snow. It was so cool and beautiful. We had 3 hours and my first hour when I was learning I was not that good, but the second hour when my dad came, he said I improved a lot. That was the same thing that happened with Vitor. Then we ate some very good pizza. It was Slovenian pizza. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

After the hard work of skiing, we went down the gondola to go to hostel. But on the way we saw the mountains reflecting on Lake Bohinj. It was amazing. I did not want to get out of the car, but my dad convinced me that we could skip rocks. It was fun. When we got back to the hostel we took a shower and we ate very good food at the hostel. Then we played darts and pool. And in pool I scored the winning shot! The next day we took some pictures by the lake
Daddy's Comment's
After a full day of caves and castles we arrived at beautiful Lake Bohinj. Previously, I have only stayed at Lake Bled, so I was into checking out a new place. We finally stayed at a hostel and it was in a perfect location right on the lake. It was
Hostel Pod Voglom. While our room was small and it was shared bathroom, the pool table, darts, foosball, common area, and friendly staff made up for it. But forget the hostel, Sofia went straight for the few mounds of snow in front of the hostel
After a quick shower, we headed off for a Slovenian meal. We decide to go with the lonely planet recommendation of
Gostilna Rupa which the receptionist at the hostel also agreed it was great for Slovenian food/culture. Wow, it was not easy to get to and we had to ask many people how to get there on the way going down roads narrower
than the car in the dark. Definitely an adventure. After what would normally be a 20 minute drive took an hour, but we arrived and it was well worth it. Great service and great food. We shared 3 meals - whole trout that was backed in some sort of breading, homemade sausage and some Slovenian meat loaf/hamburger-like thing with spices and dumplings. All very good. The ride home was not easy as well. Garmin did not do so well in the very rural town of Srednja Vas. We survived.

The next day was a day of skiing at
Vogel . It was only about 15 minutes away from our hostel and you take a gondola up to the base which was interesting. This was the second time Sofia went skiing (fist time was in Romania) and 2nd time for Vitor (first time in Italy more than10 years ago. Signed sofia up for 3 hours of 1 on 1 skiing and Vitor decided to go with 1 on 1 snowboarding. For me it was the first time I went skiing since Korea in 2002! I let them ski and came back and checked in
on them every hour or so. Sofia made incredible progress during the 2nd hour and now can turn. She loved it! Vitor did fantastic as well.
We had incredible pizza for lunch and then I skied with Sofia for another couple hours before it was time to leave. We had a great time. We stopped by Lake Bohinj on the way back to the hostel to skip some rocks and hang out. It was very beautiful.
We then chilled at the hostel and ate the group meal there. It was a night of darts, pool, foosball (and wine for me). Lots of fun. Sofia, with my help, hit an incredible shot to beat Vitor at pool and she was very proud of herself.
