Well, its been a while!! For those of you who were wondering if i had fell off the edge of the world, the answer is obviously no. However, i nearly fell off the edge of a motorway at 70mph (big style blow out, the type that leaves your tyre in pieces on the motorway). I have been getting around since leaving Germany. First i went to Babylon (small town in CZ republic). Not much there, except forests, thunderstorms and the occasional night club (found out that is what they call brothels, didnt go in). Spent a couple of nights and got some good off roading in. From there moved further into Bohemia (look it up if you dont know where it is. Found a camp site, by accident at Hnacov (remember the name because i went out with a Danish girl called Pia Hancov, years ago - isnt life strange!). Anyway, it had a nice big lake that i swam around. They did windsurfing there for about 5p per hour (1pound 10p actually) so i decided to give it a go - unfortunatlly the wind just died, so they said there was no point trying. Hired a canoe instead for 4p
UNESCO in CZ
Not sure where, but beautiful (work it out!). I still hate canoes!!!!!
Then moved on to a place called Slapy (big lake where river Vltava (the 1 that runs though Prauge) is dammed to form a big (Actually Huge lake). Nice place, went biking a lot, swam across the lake a few times and got drunk a lot on 50p a pint lager. After that i moved on to Prauge. What a city. Fell in love with the place. Campsite was in Slivenic, about 6km from the centre. Cycled down by river (excellent track) and did all the sites in a whistle stop bike tour. Went to the palace and got told off by police for riding in grounds (never mind). cant begin to describe how beautiful the place is, so i wont bother (search the internet for pictures). My daughter came out to visit me for 5 days, and her boyfriend for a couple of days. we had a good time and it was great to see them. shame about the rain.
After they had left, i had 5 days before a friend of mine (Josie), was going to fly out to meet me in Prauge and we were to go to Vienna, where she used to live, to show me around. Decided to go to Dresden for a couple of days. Nice place, very grand, but it never stopped raining. Still, i recommend a visit. Decided to go to Poland next (cant remember the name of the place, but the english translation is Stag Hill). Poland has been raped by communism and it was sad to see how poorly it has been treated. The people, however were great, very friendly and doing well with what they have got, despite the non stop rain. Money also goes a long way here. Forgot to mention, exhaust clamp fell off van (very loud), fixed by a nice German garage by the border.
Coming back into CZ republic, i had to take a 10km detour, as one of the main bridges had been washed away in the floods (5 days of constant, heavy rain). Stopped at a sight in north region and did some excellent downhill rides at campsite. then i found out we were at a UNESCO site of outstanding beauty and should not have being riding there (whoops!!!) Beautiful scenery, completed by guy playing banjo and singing folk songs in the evening. back in Prauge the next day.
Picked Josie up from the airport and headed off towards Vienna. Stopped at site on the way there, also picked up an electric bbq. Vienna is also a very beautiful city, though it didnt grab me quite the same way as Prauge, at first. Too much to write about (again, look on the internet). It was on the way back to Prauge that i had the blow out (permanent brown stain on drivers seat now).
Got new tyres fitted in Prauge (2 for 110pounds). Went around city with Josie and had some great meals. Dropped her off at airport on 16th August. Had birthday on 17th (44 now) and enjoyed day sunbathing and evening in city. Moved on to Bratislava next day. This is a poor capital city, heavily industrialized and very neglected. It has the most ugly castle i have ever seen. The people are poor, but have spirit. The campsite is at the side of a lake (Slate Piesky), that is man made, but quite nice.
That brings me to the title of this entry. CZ republic got Prauge, Skoda and Pilsner lager. Slovakia got Bratislava. You jugde!!

what are you talking about
the question i would like to ask you is WHAT ARE YOU SEARCHING FOR< Are you traveling because you want to know a new culture, new people or do you want to find you home country in every other country as well? You have propably not been asking why the castle looks like this, about its history and so on...nor did you show interrest in other historical buildings in Bratislava, like the Gothic church Klarisky, or the Primacial Palais...well, however, you should have your eyes wide open, otherwise your travellling has no point at all
