This morning I ate breakfast with the Spanish girl from my room. I told her my plans for the day and asked if she wanted to come along. She did, so off we went. We caught a bus into Rimini and then changed buses for San Marino. 30 minutes later we arrived there. The Republic of San Marino is Europe's third smallest state and San Marino is the capital. They have their own postage system and it is on a high cliff top. First thing we did was admire the view of the valley and mountains. Then we went to the Public Palace. Was a bit of a waste of money. There were two rooms open to the public and we were out of there 5 minutes later. We walked up hill. The streets are full of souvenir shops. We came to Guatia Fortress, also known as the First Tower. It was built in the 11th century. There are cells here that were used as prisons and a little chapel. We climbed the tower and could see most of the capital San Marino. We then walked beside the city walls and came to Cesta Fortress (Second Tower) built in

We ate lunch with a view of the valley. Then wandered some more and caught the bus back to Rimini.
