Staying in the apple hostel which would be more suitably named the rotten apple, but the long hours of daylight - to the point that I did not see it get dark even at 1 am meant thankfully little time was spent in this cauldren...the sky line of St Petersberg is dotted with spiralled cathedrals of glittering gold, visited the winter palace which is not the state hermitage or musuem...and this is filled with room upon room of dazzling jewels and golden trinkets...

the summer palace is further out of ton but definately worth a visit and a wander around the vast gardens and beautful water fountains... finshed off with a visit to the Yusopov palace which was where the infamous rastputin was murdered remebered being tld at school that he was wrapped in a rug and burried under the ice they didnt make mention of rastputin but apparently he was killed in the cellar
