have just arrived here a few hours ago so haven't seen much yet. just had to report on my last night in lagos!! it was so much fun. what can i say. we accidentally crashed a birthday party and it all turned out so well. some friends walked past a karaoke bar on their way back from dinner and so we decided to start our night there. we went back and had a great time - singing our lungs out.... then they bring out the cake and everyone starts singing happy birthday to this portugese guy. we had absolutely no idea what to do!!! it was so funny. they were so nice and welcoming so we weren't uncomfortable at all. they even gave us birthday cake and champagne!! aren't we lucky. it was so much fun and so random. we stayed for hours and had a great time singing and dancing with the locals. it was an amazing experience.
on a sadder note, my beloved sunglasses have officially died :[ - they don't have normal brackets on this computer!! i tried supergluing them for a few weeks but they just kept on breaking. so sad. i'll have to get some new ones when i get home. i bought a replacement cheap pair but they're nothing like the original!! that's all for now...
