tentoes in lisbon porto now nazera

hi

8.30pm here in the dinning room at the hostel Nazare .

guppy is not behaving himself so am using the computer here at the hostel.

have been able to catch up with the champions league games.... Manchester City is down 2 . 0 to Barcelona and that is at half time.

Has been a great day here in Nazare ..... a bit cloudy and windy but good for walking so up the hill to Silio and on the sealed footpath for about

three hours walking between the forest of pine an eucalptus trees..... some had recently been cut down so the smell was good there.

and arrived at the village of Vale Furado small with about 20 houses and two cafe come restaurants both of which were closed.....

so down about 50 steps to the beach and stayed for about an hour or so..... the tide was coming in and rocks were along the beach..

so back up the hill and back down the walking track for a while then when i came upon the wind turbines knowing that I only had about an

hours walk back then headed back to the beach...... good idea as the wind was now at my back but the tide still seemed to be coming in

perhaps it is spring tides at present as the water seemed to come up and over the sand dunes so a few challengers on the way ....

but got back safely to Sitio with locals coming down to see the waves as the sea was getting rough and noisy.... so yes some big waves

were appearing which of course what Nazare is famous for .... the biggest recorded surfed wave of 100 feet or more......

yesterday was cloudy and wet in the morning so stayed around the hostel until about midday...... had a fish soup for brunch

also on Sunday night watched the final of Portugal Got Talent .... which started at 9.30pm with ten minutes of advertisements after about three

quarters of an hour...... a young girl of about 11 years old won the contest ..... and coming in second was a group of older Portugese women who

wore traditional clothes and a happy song..... but you could see that the girl was going to win as she is the one that would sell the most records ...

and at the end of the day that is what makes the money...... headed out to the modern supermarkets at the beginning to town for some retail

therapy then along some streets that I have not been before ..... then ended up at Pederneira which is the area that overlooks Nazare so it was a

good spot for lunch as the rain had cleared...... brought some whiskey for 15 euros and headed back via the beach of Nazare which I had not

actually walked along before..... along the waters edge that is ...... and back here for tea which was lasagna and salad with bread ..... and then had

a chat to the German girl who is shearing my room..... she is a nurse and it was a good long chat until pass 10pm ...................

so sorry no photos again but at least able to do my blog ...... hope guppy is working tomorrow as hope to chat to Tina and Liz so we will see......

not sure what happens with him..... will have to find out so it does not happen to often .... but my blog are about to come to an end

as yes on Thursday head to Lisbon and Friday off to London and then on Monday will be flying back to New Zealand and Auckland

for a few days before heading to Wellington......... the journey that started six months ago will be coming to an end...... it has been a great excitement.

with adventures around every corner.... have loved every minute of it and it will not be if I travel again but when ......

still have a few more challengers up my sleeve I guess before all that happens.... but it has been a great experience and a learning curb.... all the way...

but one that I have accepted the challenge and hopefully am a better person from my experiences and can pass some helpful information on to one and

all on my journey of life..... what it next will bring I am will and able to accept it with all the help of friend and The Lord .......
