I´nt Portugal fab!!!
This is our second week in Portugal now and despite not understanding a word anyone says we are having a super time. After a night by the sea at Isala Cristina we crossed the impressive border at a suspension bridge over a dried river bed. There was almost immediately gentler scenery, lush green dotted with white houses.

We stayed in a lovely house just outside Tavira, surrounded by olive trees with a view to the sea. Highlights include a bucks fizz breakfast at 10:10:10 on the 10/10/10 ; the enchanting Santa Luzia with its wading birds, little train, magnificent fish restuarant and magical beach; Pojo Inferno- a waterfall into an emerald green pool where I would have loved to have skinny dipped but was already in trouble for having a muddy bum ........and the great, silent, aromatic and awesome mountains round Cochapo. We stopped there for a coffee and the old men and women in black, with concave faces, conker brown skin and stove pipe hats eyed us suspiciously!
We are now in central Portugal near Nazere. The journey took us over the 6k long Vasco Da Gama bridge which spanned the sparkling waters below Lisbon. We are staying at the Newmans superb place with panoramic views of the sea. We might not leave!
