This blog will be limited in narrative but focus on photographs. After the cauldron that was Sevilla at 45°c, arriving in Portugal's magnetic Algarve via a three hour coach ride and a hair-raising taxi ride to the Vila Gale Atlantico resort, ten minutes from Albufeira, we settled in to our top floor suite. Sipping cafe au lait (Portugese say white coffee) nearby and close to the water was a treat while we waited to pick up the rental car.

By coincidence, Marlon lives just ten minutes from our resort. It was a great pleasure to have him join us.

Quaint place for lunch in Salema - a gem of a village now discovered by visitors.

This was a first for me and it was a most memorable dish. Moist, tender and very tasty, this fish whetted my appetite for the future. I will have it again and again.

Not every restaurant prepares fish how it should be done. The Algarve restaurants are the exception and The Fish House had to be at the top of the pile. Superb.
