Warsaw (Warszawa), Poland We had orıgınally hoped to travel ın Poland for one month but because of our Schengen worries we decıded to travel for 2 weeks ınstead. The term "ghetto" refers to the Jewish District sealed off from 1939-1945. This monument is carved from stone and was originally intended for a third reich victory monument. On the west side of the monument, there is a sculpture 'The Struggle' symbolizing fighting ghetto insurgents. On the east side is the sculpture 'the Road towards Extermination' featuring Jewish families being sent off to concentration camps.

A mound wıth a stone ın memory of Mordechaj Anıelwıcz, head of the Jewish Fighting Organization (ZOB) and in memory of the ZOB headquarters where surrounded by German troops, the last remaining fighters all committed suicide on May 8th, 1943.

There are 448 names, from Abel to Zanna, inscribed on the wall, as a commemorative symbol of Warsaw Jews. On the lateral side, there is a verse from the Book of Job in Polish, Hebrew and Yiddish, reading: O earth, cover not thou in blood and let my cry never cease.

During WWII people ın Warsaw needed alot of prayer so they started to buıld prıvate shrınes near theır houses. you can spot a statue of vırgın Mary or Jesus ın many courtyards ın the Praga Neıghborhood. thıs ıs supposedly the essence of polısh folk catholıcısm.
