Well, I did get a bit behind, didn't I?
I'm going to put as many pictures as I can on this post, but I may add another post or two just for pictures.
Budapest-
I abolutely loved Budapest!
The first night there I met a nice girl, Emilia, from London and we went out to dinner at this cool little underground place. The food was REALLY good too! It had a very international menu, which I took advantage of. 😊 I had this really good zucchini with spinach and cheese dish. It is one of the best things I've ever eaten.
I just kind of wandered around during the days, really. I slept late and didn't do much. Then I realized I was worrying about stuff, so I emerged myself in a personal crises, and then overcame it, and everything was much happier and lighter after that. It's a sad fact that I can always tell that I'm happy if I talk to myself. Not like telling myself secret messages with a dazed look on my face as I stumble down the street, but more like saying "I just don't understand" and laughing when
I couldn't find a plug in my compartment on my overnight train. And, I haven't had ANY privacy for so long, which makes me unable to sing. I recently realized the toll it takes on my soul not to be able to sing. So now I sing very, very quietly in public, lol.
Anyway, for a long time I just wandered around the city and would get tired and wouldn't feel like doing anything much. My second night there I went out to eat with Emilia, and Dan Chiu (sweet lady from Taiwan, but living in France) and then we went to this really cool pub and watched football. It was such a cool place! The walls were covered with graffiti and they had all the tables facing the one clean wall where they projected the game like in a movie theatre! No worries, I was entirely safe the entire time. It was great though. I watched football like a real European! AND I liked it.
My last night, I just chilled at the Hostel because it was so nice, and met the most insane Australian man ever! He was brilliant. He was very outgoing, and he had
this remarkable ability to read people and make good guesses. So about five minutes after talking he says, "You've never been in love have you?" I was like, "WHAT?" Lol, then we started talking about all sorts of things like too much pride in being independent can make it hard for someone to fall in love (hmmm...) and he gave me one very deep piece of advice. He said to me "Please, please, never go out and compromise your morals just in order to feel like your living!" Of course, I already knew this, but it was still funny to hear. The funniest thing about him is that he kept talking about all the women that were in love with him, lol. He was such a concieted little man, yes, little. He was a tiny, frail looking thing. But he kept saying things like that when women found out how he could read them they either fell in love with them or hated him (because they saw how easily they could fall for him, lol, i am serious). I kept making references to the fact that i wasn't interested in him
in the least but he kept making
other references, so finally I told him in a sweet way "I promise that I won't ever fall in love with you or hate you." He thanked me, but a few minutes later he mentioned that his ego was hurt a little, lol. He didn't even like me, he just wanted to add me to hs string of "they're so in love with me" stories. I'm probably already one of them. Pathetic.
The next day I had a train to Krakow, but it was an overnight train and it didn't leave until 8 pm, so I spent the day doing some major sightseeing. I saw the parliment building where a bunch of protesters were massacred in 1956. Brutal communists. Then I walked over and saw Magarett Island. It's just this little island that's a park. They don't allow cars, so it's quite nice. Then I went up on the big hill where Buda castle isn't...though I thought it was. I did get some very nice views of Budapest up there, though, so it was all worth it in the end. I went to a church with a pretty interesting story. During the fall of Buda, the monks of this

Europe is just full of odd statues, like this guy playing to the little beasts church feared for the safety of some of the most sacred relics, particularly a very old statue of Mary and Christ. So, they put it in this little alter like thing, and plastered over it to look like a wall. The church was captured and converted to a mosque, but a hundred years later something happened (earthquake I think) and the plaster broke off and there was this statue of Jesus and Mary staring down at them. They left the church and were to scared to ever fight for it, so it became a church again. 😊
Mostly, Budapest was just a great experience. It was very introspective for me, and I plan to go back. I didn't get to go to one of the famous thermal baths, because as I mentioned, the first few days were rough, and the day I wanted to go it was s0o0o0 hot outside. I didn't really want to go to a thermal bath with it nearly being a thermal bath with just the humidity 😊
I think, I'll just post this for now, and do Krakow's post after I go to the concentration camp and the saltmine. Tomorrow's a big day.

A church I just accidently stumbled into. Concentration camp, salt mine, and night train to Prague! I'm very excited! Well, off to sleep now, all my roommies went out for a pub crawl, so if I hurry i can get a few hours of privacy, lol...to read! I am a boring creature, lol.
