A Day of Remembrance

July 15th 2007Today evoked a lot of emotion for us. We visited Auschwitz (Oswieciem) and Birkenau. We were asked not to speak while on our tour. We were asked to simply remain quiet and hear the voices of those who cried out in pain and sadness, agony and despair. We leave you with a pictorial and ask you to do the same.

I am a visiting faculty member in the Biomedical Sciences Department at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, and an adjunct instructor in the Biology Department and Physical Sciences Department at Grand Rapids Community College. I will soon be embarking on a study abroad journey at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland.
